Flower Market

Running errands can be a learning experience for kids! 🙂

I brought Caleb to the flower market with me since I needed to buy some flowers for our pajama dice party.
There were so many flowers and Caleb tried to smell as many of them as he could.
He quickly spotted the blue flowers and started counting them.

We didn’t stay too long in the market since it was quite hot there. I bought these roses for the party. I’ll post pictures of the pajama dice party soon!

Our next field trip should be in a field of flowers so Caleb could see that flowers don’t just come from the market — they are planted, grown, cut, and then sold 🙂 Do you have any more daily field trip ideas? Comment to share! 🙂 Happy weekend everyone!

Dinosaurs Island

One of the great things about homeschooling is taking field trips and learning about things from actual experience rather than just reading about them from books. Which was why we brought Caleb to DINOSAURS ISLAND.

Right before you enter the gates to the “island”, there were some dinosaurs that you could ride.

Inside the gates, there were numerous dinosaurs that move their heads and open their mouths. And according to Caleb, they also made elephant sounds. The dinosaurs were all motion-activated and Caleb loved them!

Caleb enjoyed touching the different dinosaurs. All parts of the dinosaurs were soft to touch, like rubber.

He wanted to pet the baby triceratops too.

For an extra amount of cash, you could feed the Tyrannosaurus (T-rex) some meat or as Caleb calls it–a hotdog.

Or you could be the T-rex’s supper.

There were also dinosaur fossils and bones to see in their mini-museum.

Towards the end of the park, there was a dinosaur show where dinosaur mascots interacted with the audience and danced to the beat of Psy’s “Gentlemen”.

Dinosaurs Island is quite small. It took us around 30-45 minutes to go around the attractions TWICE (because Caleb didn’t want to leave). Despite the mosquitos (bring lots of mosquito spray) Caleb enjoyed his dinosaur adventure and even as I write this, he still keeps on asking to go back to Dinosaurs Island.
