Baby Bowser Costume from Super Mario Brothers

We chose to do a Super Mario Brothers theme for this years Halloween costumes. The boys dressed up as Super Mario and Luigi while my husband and I dressed up as Piranha Plants. Click here to see how to make the Piranha plant costume.

I couldn’t let the newest addition to our family miss out on all the dressing up fun!

So, here’s how I made a baby Bowser shell for his costume.

I used felt cloth for everything. I cut out a green oval for the shell. And little circles to make the spikes pop out.

For the spikes, I used the Cone Pattern from Cre8tive Compass, pinned everything in place and sewed it on by hand.

I made the white shell outline using Geena cloth. By sewing it in a straight line and filling it with polyester. Then, I attached it to the shell piece using my sewing machine.

Then I used yellow Geena cloth for the bottom. Added straps and filled it with polyester.

Here’s Lucas with the Bowser shell in his very first photoshoot.
